Oasis Settlement Services is a multi-service initiative to help newcomers to Canada settle well into the community of Prince George, BC. Oasis came to be through a collaborative process among Westwood Church members who had a heart to serve newcomers to Canada.
Rose Tohme, Oasis' first Ministry Team Lead, played a significant part in the creation of this initiative.
Rose, a Syrian who herself came to Canada with her family after being sponsored by Westwood Church, began to gain a heart for newcomers to Canada. Shortly after settling in Prince George, Rose and her family began to serve newcomers to Prince George by teaming up with others with a similar heart to help them settle well in the community.
Both a leadership and a volunteer team are
currently being formed.
